Colorado's Geography Makes for Great Rafting
So many rivers flow out of Colorado, providing an abundant watershed from the Continental Divide. This makes for a great natural landscape and a unique opportunity for rafters.
The Arkansas River flows from the Collegiate Peaks and is surrounded by 13,000 to 14,000 foot peaks. Clear Creek flows east from the Continental Divide and is nestled in an historic mining valley. Colorado whitewater rafting provides visitors with the natural beauty that can be seen all around you.
Best Time to Go
The best time to go rafting is when you can go and when we can take you. Raft Masters conduct rafting trips from March through October. Water levels fluctuate throughout this period, with peak water levels usually occurring between late May and early June. The biggest waves and wettest rides correspond with these peak water levels. Temperatures in May and early June are temperate, but can be unpredictable. That is why we provide all the needed gear for no additional cost.
July and August are usually quite warm and dry. Removing the high water, you will encounter mostly fun moderate level waters. You can expect low water on very early and late trips. These trips are particularly interesting due to the technical challenge of low flows increasing the difficulty of the rapids.
July is the busiest month of the season. Weekdays are generally less busy than weekends, but we do not charge an additional fee for weekend trips.
