Dip and Zip
ADRENALINE JUNKIES WANTED!
Looking for an adrenaline packed day? You found it with Raft Masters new Dip and Zip Package. This package allows you to couple your choice of a mild or wild morning of rafting with an exciting afternoon of Zipping!
What's Zipping?
Zipping is the newest adventure sport to hit Colorado.
Flying through the air on a zipline at 40 miles per hour with a pulley harnessed to a steel cable is a pure adrenaline rush, and the most exciting new family sport on the planet.
No longer reserved for high profile Hollywood action heroes, zipline thrills are waiting for you over a rugged canyon in central Colorado.
This zipline tour consists of 7 individual cables between 200 and 550 feet in length and a practice (bunny) cable 80 ft. long stretched over a rocky canyon 150 feet deep. There are hiking trails between the takeoff and landing platforms 40-670 feet long over rocky ground, but not very difficult. This adventure has a very high thrill to skill ratio, it is not very difficult and is a lot like bowling or billiards, anyone can do it, but it takes a little instruction and practice to do it well.
No baggy clothes, jewelry or cell phones on the tour, please. Hair ties for long hair are required. We cannot accommodate spectators or pets on the property, unfortunately. Our weight limit depends on body shape but the harnesses must fit comfortably. There may be exceptions for very tall people, but generally our limits are: women-200 lbs and men-260 lbs. Kids have to be at least 8 years old. Ages 8 to 13 need to go with a guide to add weight to zip and require an additional $25 guide fee. They have their own gear and run the practice lines by themselves, but need the extra weight and guidance for proper travel. Kids under 18 must have a parent along or approved written release.
This adventure starts at our Canon City office. Check in time 8:15. After running the milder Big Horn Sheep Canyon or the wilder Royal Gorge you will enjoy a wonderful lunch including hamburgers, hotdogs, and our sandwich bar at our "Eddie Out Cafe". After lunch you must transport yourself to Country Bounty Restaurant, 413 W. Rainbow Blvd (across from the hot springs pool-Hwy 50 West) in Salida. This is a beautiful drive up high way 50 through Big Horn Sheep Canyon that should take approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. It's a bit of a drive but worth the adventure!
